Reports coming out of Italy suggest that Arsenal are interested in a second Serie A central midfielder.
For those unaware, Arsenal have been linked with Juventus’ Arthur Melo of late.
However, recent comments on the part of Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri suggest that Arthur is staying put: “This is our team and we’re not gonna change anything. Arthur’s part of Brazil national team, he’s an important player”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reported that Juventus were not accepting the six-month loan proposal Arsenal submitted for Arthur:

So, it is not too surprising to see Italian outlet Calciomercato report that Samuele Ricci has ended up in the sights of Arsenal.
Who is Samuele Ricci?
Samuele Ricci is a product of Empoli’s youth system and has spent his entire senior career to date at the club.
All told, Ricci has featured on 90 occasions for Empoli, notching three goals and five assists in the process.
The 20-year-old is a natural defensive midfielder who would, on paper, fit in well in Arsenal’s midfield in place of someone like Mohamed Elneny, who is out of contract in the summer and getting on in years. Ricci, along with Albert Sambi Lokonga, could also potentially ensure that Arsenal have a solid midfield pairing for the next decade or so.
Ricci’s current contract runs until 2024, suggesting Empoli are in no desperate need to part with the midfielder.
It is not known how much the Serie A side would demand from Arsenal for Ricci.
