^*^ Tottenham blow as chief January target set for loan-to-buy Barcelona switch

Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore looks all set for a return to Spain, dealing a hefty blow to the January transfer plans of Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

Speculation surrounding the future of wide-man Traore has of course been rife across the media throughout the month to date.

The widespread assumption was that the 26-year-old would ultimately make the move to north London, to link up with Antonio Conte’s aforementioned Tottenham.

Some outlets even went as far as to assure that a deal between the respective boards at Molineux and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was all but complete.

As alluded to above, however, in a major blow to the plans of Conte and co. for the 2nd half of the campaign, in fact, Traore now appears primed to move elsewhere.

The explosive winger’s upcoming landing spot? FC Barcelona.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources on Thursday, Traore is all set for a return to Catalunya, after developing in Barca’s famed La Masia academy during the fledgling years of his career.

The Spaniard will fly out to the Camp Nou on Friday to undergo a medical with his ex-club, before putting pen to paper on a loan deal through the summer.

Xavi Hernandez and co. will then have the option of making the move a permanent one for a fee of around 35 million euros.

Dembele latest

Elsewhere, an insight has also been provided into the likely effect of Traore’s Blaugrana return on fellow winger Ousmane Dembele.

French international Dembele has been widely tipped to head in the other direction out the Camp Nou exit doors this month, on the back of a public back-and-forth with director Mateu Alemany.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, though, has confirmed that Traore’s arrival, in fact, will have no direct impact on Dembele’s future.
