Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui says Anthony Martial must give ‘much more’ to the side after the Manchester United striker disappointed on his debut for the club.
The Frenchman joined the La Liga giants on loan for the remainder of the season last month, with Ralf Rangnick in agreement with Martial that he needed regular game time.
Martial had started just two Premier League matches before his move to Spain and he’s lacking in match sharpness.
Nevertheless, he made a less than impressive start to life for Sevilla as the side played out a costly 0-0 draw with Osasuna on Saturday.
Martial was subbed with 14 minutes left on the clock, even with Sevilla piling forward in search of a winner.
And Lopetegui warned Martial after the draw that he needs to ‘give us much more’ if he wants to remain in the starting XI.

‘Anthony has to give us much more,’ Lopetegui said.
‘It was his first game and adaptation is not easy, he has played little this year and he has to get into dynamics and gain minutes and confidence.’
United suddenly look light in attacking areas following Mason Greenwood’s arrest and the decision to allow Martial, Donny van de Beek and Amad Diallo to leave on loan.
The Red Devils were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough on Friday night after missing a number of gilt-edged chances in the first hour.
Rangnick’s men take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday.
