^*^ Rio Ferdinand sends message to Manchester United over manager hunt

Rio Ferdinand has offered Manchester United some advice regarding their manager hunt.

This, of course, comes with the Red Devils still yet to appoint a permanent coach following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The likes of Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino have been the main names linked.

However, Rio Ferdinand has urged the Manchester outfit to seek out Thomas Tuchel amid Chelsea’s ongoing ownership issues:

“I’m taking Tuchel man, I don’t care,” admitted Ferdinand, speaking on the Vibe with Five Youtube channel. “If the roles were reversed and Man United were there and had Tuchel as a sitting duck at our football club, we are presuming he’s a sitting duck from the reports we are hearing.

“If that was the case and the roles were reversed, trust me, Roman and the empire would knock down the door. They wouldn’t even knock down the door, they’d run round the side and take him.

“Tuchel would be the one. He’s got the pedigree. He’s shown already that he can come into this league, he’s adapted straight away, he’s won the Champions League, he can galvanise a squad, he can get them playing. He can create a culture, create a togetherness. He’s got discipline.”

What has Tuchel said about taking the Manchester United job?

Tuchel was asked about links to the Manchester United job earlier this month, but the former Borussia Dortmund manager seemed quick to dismiss them:

“Do you feel me less committed or involved with this club,” Tuchel asked. “Absolutely not. I love to work for Chelsea and this club has everything it needs to make me happy.”

Of course, a lot could change in the next few months but, given the state Manchester United as a club find themselves in, it is hard to see why any properly top manager would wish to go there at present.
