Fans at Anfield booed the national anthem before the Premier League match against Brentford on the day of King Charles's coronation. A number of clubs announced they would be playing God Save the King before kick-off after the Premier League suggested all clubs do so to mark the occasion. Liverpool fans have a history of booing the anthem, most recently at the 2022 FA Cup final
