Napoli have told Manchester United that they are willing to include an obligation to buy clause as part of their deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund, according to reports in Italy.
The Serie A champions are in the market for a new striker before the end of the summer transfer window due to Romelu Lukaku’s thigh injury.
The former Chelsea and United striker is not required to undergo surgery after he was forced off during Napoli’s pre-season friendly against Olympiacos on August 14, however, he is likely to miss at least three months.
Napoli have now opened talks with United over a deal for Hojlund, who has also attracted interest from AC Milan and Roma.
Sky Sport Italy report that Antonio Conte has made the signing of Hojlund his top priority and Napoli are pushing to reach an agreement with United.

The report claims that part of Napoli’s compromise is the fact that they are willing to change the deal from a loan with an option to buy to one which includes an obligation to buy for a fee between €40 million and €45m (£34.5m and £38.9m).
Hojlund, meanwhile, is understood to be keen on a return to Serie A but on the condition that the move from United will be permanent.
The Denmark international, who was signed in a £72m deal from Atalanta two years ago, was left out of United’s squad for their Premier League opener against Arsenal last Sunday.
Speaking about his decision to omit Hojlund from his squad for the 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal, Amorim said: ‘It is a fight for places.
‘We’ll see what is going to happen in the market. There are different characteristics. Rasmus has the same characteristics of Benjamin Sesko, so we need to choose.’
