^ ^ ‘I don’t think he’s worth that much’ – Kevin Campbell warns Arsenal off signing £67 million-rated Tammy Abraham

Kevin Campbell has told Arsenal not to sign Tammy Abraham this summer, claiming the striker is not worth the £67 million transfer fee quoted by Roma.

Before he left Chelsea for Italy last year, Arsenal were interested in a deal for Abraham but could not agree a fee with their London rivals.

This season, the 24-year-old has been a revelation for Roma, scoring 24 goals for the Serie A side in all competitions, and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is said to be eyeing up another attempt to sign him this summer as he looks to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Campbell, the former Arsenal forward, thinks Abraham will cost his old club too much money and believes Arteta should look elsewhere for a centre-forward.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: ‘That’s a lot of money. I don’t think he’s worth that much. Tammy Abraham is a very good player but not at that price.

I think the price will prove to be the sticking point for Arsenal. If that is the case I’m sure the club will look at someone else.

‘Last summer I would have gone and got him. He’s got 25-odd goals in Italy already this season. That’s some return.

‘It just goes to show that he has been on fire. Fair play to him. He may get 30 goals this season and that will only add more money onto his value.’

The Gunners are in need of a striker considering Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are set to leave the club at the end of the season with their contracts close to expiring.

Any big deals at the Emirates this summer are likely to hinge on whether Arsenal qualify for the Champions League next term.

The north London side are currently fourth in the Premier League, two points ahead of rivals Tottenham, who they play later this month.
