^*^ Details: Man City strike agreement to sign Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips with youngster heading in opposite direction

Manchester City have, on Friday, struck an agreement over the signing of another key target ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The latest player set to take his talents to the Etihad? Kalvin Phillips.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, on the back of weeks of negotiations, the transfer team on the blue half of Manchester have finally found the terms of an agreement with Premier League rivals Leeds United.

The deal is understood to be based around an initial fee of £42 million, followed by a further £3 million in potential add-ons.

Heading in the other direction as part of a separate transfer, meanwhile, will be Darko Gyabi.

The highly-regarded midfield starlet had been in the sights of Leeds’ scouts for some time now, with City having now agreed to part with the 18-year-old for a sum of around £5 million.

Phillips’ imminent arrival of course continues what has proven an altogether productive opening to the transfer window on the part of the powers that be at Man City.

After pipping Liverpool to Premier League supremacy once more last time out, the Sky Blues have added yet further firepower to what was already a talent-packed squad under the watch of Pep Guardiola.

Joining Phillips in lining out at the Etihad from next season on will be both Norwegian goalscoring sensation Erling Haaland, and up-and-coming Argentine prodigy Julian Alvarez.
