Chelsea have told fans to take ‘extreme caution’ in Naples after two supporters were treated in hospital ahead of their Champions League tie in the Italian city.
Napoli and Chelsea meet at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night in the competition’s final round of group games.
‘The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples,’ Chelsea posted on their official X account.
‘Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
‘The club would like to remind all supporters to exercise extreme caution whilst in the city and take note of the advice shared ahead of this fixture.’
Around 2,500 Chelsea supporters are expected to attend tonight’s game at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Supporters have already been told to congregate at a specific location several hours before the game and will receive a police escort to the ground.

Fans claimed on social media that two people were stabbed last night but those reports have not been verified.
Naples is known as a notoriously dangerous city for visiting fans and Chelsea did send a warning earlier this month to those that planned to travel.
‘During Uefa competition matches, attacks on away fans have sometimes occurred in Naples,’ a brief statement read.
Chelsea are hoping to seal a top-eight finish in the Champions League group phase that would secure a place in the last 16 of the competition and avoid them playing in next month’s play-off round.

A win would guarantee avoiding that fate but Liam Rosenior is under no illusions as to the task facing his side.
He said: ‘This is a very strong team.
‘I think it would have been unfortunate in the recent games they played. The results haven’t followed the performances that Antonio’s team have given.
‘We know it’s going to be a very difficult game in a very special atmosphere. It doesn’t change my plans at all because I’ve been planning for a very difficult game.’
