Highlights of the highly-anticipated World Cup qualifying showdown between Egypt and Senegal to have played out on Saturday evening have come to the fore online.
The clash of course marked a rematch of the AFCON finale to have played out just over a month ago, which saw Senegal, in the end, emerge victorious courtesy of a tense penalty shootout triumph.

Adding further spice to the occasion, meanwhile, was the fact that it too saw Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, attacking partners in crime on a near-weekly basis, go head-to-head.
And, on this occasion, it was the former who had the last laugh.
This came as a hard-fought 90 minutes were ultimately decided by a solitary goal, as that man Salah’s effort with just four minutes on the clock rebounded off the crossbar before deflecting home off the unfortunate Saliou Ciss.
Egypt, in turn, carry a slender advantage to the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade, in the driver’s seat to book their spot at the Qatar World Cup ahead of Tuesday’s return leg.

Diaz continues to shine
Salah, of course, is far from the only member of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking ranks at Anfield to have made a telling contribution for his country across the week to date.
After being afforded a start in Colombia’s World cup qualifying showdown with Bolivia, Luis Diaz, a January arrival at Liverpool, set his country on their way to a 3-0 triumph, courtesy of a wonderful individual goal:

Then, 24 hours later, it was the turn of Diogo Jota, who powered home a fine header in Portugal’s 3-1 playoff win over Turkey:
